Hold your garage door opener 1 to 3 inches from the HomeLink interface on your rearview mirror. The most common reason for the breakdown of automatic gates is the failure of the automation, which occurs due to power surges in the network. Therefore, experts always recommend installing a stabilizer. So, if there is a breakdown, and you are not far from a kettle in an electrician, you can garage door repair it yourself.

Breakdown of automation in 90% of cases is associated with:

  • failure of the varistor;
  • breakdown of the transformer;

To complete a garage door repair process, you need to close the thyristor power tracks with a jumper or a piece of solder without soldering the element (the tracks on different device models will differ, but this technique works).   4. The current-carrying tracks located near the connector for turning on the electric motor burned out; sometimes, the textolite of the board also burns out.   5. Reed switches break less often. It is easy to determine a breakdown - one or two indicators on the board (OL and/or CL) are off. To complete a garage door repair process, you need to remove the reed switch unit - if the burnt-out reed switch cannot be visually identified (the reed switches are usually filled with white glue), we use a multimeter tester. After discovery, we buy a new one, but it costs a penny on the market, and solder it with a soldering iron, and then put the block in place.

  4. Insert the second one into the hole, take out the first one, and turn the rod.
